Rip dat model

Geetings from Newerth! Due to strange and unforeseen circumstances, this blog had been infiltrated by the mighty, 'Financially-under zealous gamer!' (I was bribed with a cheeseburger). As I take the leap into new and uncharted Nerdolitry, I'll continue to keep you posted on my amazing finds of awesome.

To start off, I thought I'd post a little something I found on the nett. As a new Tyranid player, I find the whole theme of my chosen race to be amazing. None other can compare. Probably one of my favorite parts of making Tyranid mobs is the ability to mix and match several different parts to other units... I had even gone as far to put FIVE WHOLE RIPPERS onto one stand (I was told 3 would be sufficient).

I thought I was pretty baller ay. LITTLE DID I KNOW MR COOL KID HAD PUT EVEN MORE ON. How much more you ask? well.

I think he's compensating for something.

Afk, adding more rippers to base >.>

Kinky

Well its a matter of personal preference isnt it?

Do i want an army vulnerable to instant death mechanics and plagued by morale saves. bogged down in countless rules and special abilities?
No, no i dont. Not really anyway.

I have chosen Chaos Daemons because the issues arent well..an issue...

and honestly, can you tell me this isnt a damn slight better to look at.

than this..

.

yeah thats what i thought too...

The competition has begun!

Hello friends.

Today was the first day all four of us had gotten together. Fiddly had just purchased his new Eldar Battleforce while Fuz had dug up a box of Tyranids hidden deep beneath the earth. Blind is having some sultry sweet daemonettes shipped in special from America, 'just for him. Meanwhile I am busy setting to work on my Black Reach Space Marines. Need to come up with a good colour scheme. Hmm...

We spent the better part of five hours working away on our miniatures. Fiddly turned up late but was was quick to get into the swing of things, belting out guardian after guardian in his industrial construction yard. Fuz, bastard 'nid player that he is, managed to get three times as many models assembled as myself, pausing only to laugh as I struggled with my captains' bike. All the while Blind strafed the shadows of the Hall, occasionally stopping to reveal new esoteric wisdom from the latest ancient text he had "recovered".

Here are some photos of the group.

Blind_Watcher sporting his customary one-eyed stare.

Fiddly Bits hard at work getting rid of those "paint lines".

Fuz giving the team his very best troll face, "U mad bro?"

The colour scheme I came up with in the Dawn of War 2 army painter. Very halloween.

The first six tactical marines, biker-mounted captain and melta dreadnaught undercoated and ready to begin painting.

I think I'll leave that for another day.

Pretty much...

Just a heads up about my posts, as my name suggests i have a visual impairment so my posts are likely to be fraught with spelling errors :) so i beg your patience .

Well as mr Thrifty already pointed out a few times, i have a tendency to roll high. Just a gift i have had since as long as i can remember, however what hes failing to address is that i also roll incredibly low as well, the extremes of each

I entered the battle with but one objective, To learn, my strategy of charging hellbent into the fray almost won the battle with no variation in strategy at all, partly from favorable die rolls, but mostly from using the greenskins as they are meant to be used, point in the direction of the enemy and let them loose. Thrifty barely won if we were to be brutaly honest, one last turn and victory would have been mine by default, what was ironic and amusing to me, was how close i came to victory, while hampering my own chances "leaving the warboss and copters exposed, and losing them early".

Even defeat was enjoyable, i didn't enter the battle expecting victory after all haha. Relearning the rules was a tad annoying with a poor short term memory, probly bugged the hell out of Thrifty asking the same question every few minutes, but meh, still fun ^^.

Wargaming? More liegk, WarLAMING. LOLOLOL.

Hello friends.

This is going to be a blog about three humble gamers. All in their 20's, mostly unemployed, playing Warhammer 40k for the first time. (not liez). We will be starting up this week and progressively adding to our armies over the coming months. Expect further posts to dive into the intricacies of starting an army from scratch, learning how to paint, and playing with your models on the tabletop.

Blind and I played out the Battle for Black
Reach today. It was the first time any of us had picked up a model in more than five years and I learned something real quick. Blind CHEATS. It's downright unfair how lucky his rolls are. Towards the end of our second game, despite me having cleverly insta-killed his Warboss early on and a 150 points difference. It was s
till neck and neck. This is because with 17 dice on hand, Blind figures it's fair to get 7 sixes. (and only one dice under a four) I shit you not. Zero misses. All wounds. Every time. All the time. The ladies love him.

While my all mighty Dreadnaught had managed to not roll over a 2 for six turns in a row. In the end though the Space Marines managed to win out the day. Escaping from what seemed certain defeat with a handful of Terminators, the
"Deadnaught", and their all mighty flag carrier of justice. The destroyer of the green horde, the one, the only.

"Flamer boy."

Expect to learn about Flamer boy in the coming weeks. He is one badass mofo. He killed an orc.
